Its official - I need glasses!
I went to the optitions yesterday because I'd been getting headaches when cutting (basically doing anything related to my job that requires concentration), when I'm on the computer too long, driving too long etc. I decided to try and rule out the possibility of it being that I needed glasses. So I went to the optitions and got my eyes tested. She did loads of crazy things to test them like shining a VERY bright light into my eyes and I had to do a lot of reading of lines. When I was a kid I found it soooo easy to read the bottom line but I have to admit I did struggle quite considerably. So she my optition told me that I needed to wear them when my eyes feel strained or when I've been using them alot. Glasses are sooooooooooo expensive!! It's like £100 for the frames and then an extra £80 for the lenses to be put in! I have no idea how they get away with it! It's very cheeky. So yeh thats my newest bit of news. I also went to the main event at the weekend which I have to say was a lot of fun. I felt really challenged and encouraged. Despite being very very cold I enjoyed spending time with everyone and most of all spending time with God. I have neglected him a bit recently so it was good to catch up with the Big G.
Holiday,Hamster, Heroes and the Zoo
I know its been awhile but I've been a rather busy girl and abit addicted to facebook at the moment...HolidayI went on holiday to Bognor Regis on the Army holiday at Butlins. It was a nice little break and a good laugh. I got abit lonely this year during the day so I don't know if I will go back next year. It was good to be around people that love Jesus but there werent many my age so I got a bit bored. It was good to have a few lay-ins though and just generally chillout from work.Hamster! When my brother moved out in March he left me the delightful task of looking after his hamster, Chester. He couldn't take Chester with him because his landlord doesn't allow pets (although I think he lying because he secretly doesnt want Chester smelling out his posh new flat). So yeh I got home from my holiday to an empty house and went into the study to check on him and make sure he had enough food etc. I looked into the cage and there was no sign of him. He was gone and I freaked out not because I was worried about him but because I am petrified of hamsters!!! Yeh I know what can they do? I just don't like them. They are like little rats in my opinion. So I went out into the hall way and there he was.... sitting there like butter wouldn't melt and just stared at me....it was like he was laughing at me. So like the rashional person I am I screamed my head off!! It ran into my room. So I shut the door. Then I did what ever girl does when she has a problem. I got my phone out and rang Chris. This was our conversation:Chris: Hey bubiKat: Ummm....hey...umm..help me!!Chris: What have you done now?Kat: Chester has escaped and Im scared.Chris: OK try and get someone to help you and I will see you in an hour (Chris lives 80 miles away)So I got my aunty round and we tried to catch him but we couldn't find him. We tried to trap him but that failed. Chris got there after an hour and with a simple leaving the food in an open cage and waiting trick we got him. So that was a very scary night indeed.HeroesAt the weekend I went to see Mike and AJ and we went over to AJ's parents house for lunch. They have sky-plus and they had recored loads of 'Heroes' episodes for them. I had never seen any of them. I thought I'd see what all the fuss was about and watched episodes 3-7. I am now completly hooked! Its an awesome show! I spent the day with Nate yesterday and he has them all on his XBOX so I watched up till episode 10. I can't wait to see what happens!! Its amazingly addictive! The ZooI went to Colchester Zoo with Nate yesterday and it was so awesome! We saw so many cool creatures and Nate had some Colchester lessons from me. A few highlights of our day - we got to see a white tiger called Sasha and he is very rare, we saw sealions, cheetahs and baboons being fed, we got to play in the play area and we got very close to a giraffe called Edmund. Some scary points in our day was being chased by a turkey, nearly being attacked by a goose and seeing alot of animals go to the toilet. The photos are all on facebook if u wanna check em out.
My scary encounter with Greg (the monkey)
I went to Wickford this weekend to stay with Mike and AJ and something incredibly scary happened to me. Let me start at the beginning.
It was about 11.30 on saturday night so me Mike n AJ decided it was time for bed. I havn't been very well for the past couple of days so I asked AJ if she had anything I could take before I went to bed to stop me from coughing. So we got out the night nurse and then started to wonder where Mike was. He had disappeared. AJ thought he had gone into her room but he wasnt there so we just assumed he had gone downstairs for some reason. We decided not to ponder on it and said goodnight. I went into my room, shut the door and went over to my bed to get my pjs out of my bag, then I thought I saw something move behind me. I turned round and Greg (a huge stuffed monkey) was waving his arms at me. I let out a huge scream and then I saw Mike pop his head out from behind Greg! I was so scared and could have throtled him!!!
So that was my scary weekend moment! Mike will get his commumpance!!!
My 2 weeks of madness
For the last 2 weeks so much has happened. I have been to TMS and my divisional summer school. So heres what has been happening:TMSI arrived safe and sound at about 3.30 after a 2 hours and 45 minutes drive! I was soooo bored! The M25 is scary when you're by yourself and not completly sure where you might end up! I got there without getting lost but caught in a HUGE traffic jam! I got half way down the M25 and started thinking about the formal night and how fun it would be to get all dressed up......PANTS!!!!!!!!! I left my dress at home! There was no way I could go back for it now! How annoyed was I? VERY!!!! (don't worry I bought a new 1 whilst on a trip to Reading in free time). When I arrived a experienced a mass hug! It was so good to see my friends again! I was in a room with my four favourite girlies Caitlin, Jess, Emma and Heidi. We unpacked and went to auditions. Auditions weren't too bad and I got to sing 2nd sohprano/middle. I was sat inbetween Heidi and Caitlin so that was cool. It was such a good week and I had such a laugh! The Hendon boys thought they were so bad but us girlies gave as good as we got. They decided that on Friday morning at 2.30 am they would break into our room and soak us all with water! We hatched a plan. As soon as free time started on Friday afternoon we raced to sainsburys to gather up supplies (shaving foam and tampons). The boys were playing football so we snuck into their rooms and drew shaving foam men in their beds and sprinkled tampons everywhere! This went down so well!Besides all the pranks and laughs I did learn a lot about God but not as much as I did at divisional!Summer SchoolAfter a whole week at TMS a day after I went to summer school. I was completly shattered but non-the-less very excited! I was student-staff again helping Glyn out in drama. The week really helped draw me closer to God and I feel so happy at the moment. You can see my review of summer school to know more about what I thought about it but it was so so awesome! The theme was holyness and I have learnt so much about being holy and plan to carry it out in my day to day life so wish me luck because being holy in a hairdressing salon is HARD!!! I wanna say a big thank you to all my friends at summer school that made it so fun and awesome! So now I am back to reality and go back to work tomorrow! I have had a couple of days to recover and I am now not so tired! If you wanna see my photos of TMS and Summer school they are on my facebook http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=513029534&pwstdfy=9729dc0f46d88227773a5337e08762f0
Off To Bearwood College!
Its that time of year. In an hours time I will be on my way to Territorial Music School! I'm abit worried because I have to brave the scary thing that is the M25! I have never driven on it EVER! So wish me luck! According to Route Planner it will take me 2 and half hours to get there. Its a long way and all I have for company is my stereo and Nigel (my monkey).
Everything is packed and swished into my lil ka. Anyone would think Im going for a month the amount of stuff in there!
Im abit nervous about my audition because I havn't had a chance to practise it with a piano only my cd! So we will have to wait and see how that goes. I will be singing all the way down there to keep me occupyed and basically to warm my voice up!
Im so excited about seeing my girlies Caitlin and Jess I can't believe its been a whole year. It's crazy to think it was only a year ago when I was really really nervous about going because the only people I knew that were going was the boys from chelmesford. So much has happened since then. I got my Alevel results, went to uni, dropped out of uni, passed my driving test and now I'm a hairdresser how crazy is that? Its abit scary coz it makes me wonder what will have happened in my life this time next year!
Anyways I'd better go and say goodbye to the parents and Mr. Ruffles (my cat).
I can't wait till summer school next week!!!!
Harry Potter!!!
I am so excited about Harry Potter! July is gonna be a good month for excitement. The film comes out on the 13th of July and then the book the following week! I am a huge Harry Potter fan and for me this is a huge deal! I have ordered my seat at the odeon to watch the film and pre-ordered my book which I might just have to go and get at midnight! Harry Potter - Im excited - Nuff said!p.s Im also really excited because TMS is in exactly 4 weeks people!
What I've been doing
Well I havn't blogged in awhile so I thought I'd give an update on stuff thats been happening. This weekend I went to see Mike and AJ. I am hopefully going to be moving in with them next year so on Saturday night they decided to leave me in their house on my own to see how I got on being alone there. To my surprise it wasn't that wierd at all. I watched friends on the TV, went into Wickford to get some dinner from the kebab shop and then watched 'Happy Feet' (adorable film) and went to bed. In the morning I went to Wickford corps with them to see what it was like and I have to say I felt very welcome. I sang in the songsters, badly because I had a very bad cold but nevertheless sang. So yeah all in all a good weekend. On Sunday afternoon round AJ's parent's house we watched the last 2 episodes of 'Doctor Who' on sky plus (great invention if you're reading this please please daddy!) and I have to say I am very impressed with 'Doctor Who'!!! I can't wait to see the next one I thought it was really good. Is that sad? Maybe I need a hobby! I need some excitment! I will tell you something very exciting. It is exactly 6 months till christmas! That is always exciting! Its also only about 5 weeks till TMS and 6 weeks till summer school. I can't wait to see everyone and have a good time.
